CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

WELCOME TO CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Fostering children's spiritual growth is one of our main missions. Our Director of Children and Family Ministries leads the Sunday children's message and spearheads our creative rotational Sunday School program, Vacation Bible School, and oversees the Youth Program.

CHILDREN AND SUNDAY SCHOOL

(September through June) at First Pres. begins at 10:15 for children ages Pre-K to High School. Students first attend the opening minutes of our 10:00 am worship service to hear a children's message. After the children's message, all are dismissed to class as a group, where they learn and discuss the exciting stories of the Bible. On the first Sunday of the month, children are involved in a music program held in our Chapel. On four Sundays per year, we hold a kid-friendly "Family Communion Service" during worship.

In Fall and Spring our Church School holds two large group (and active) events for children grades Pre-k to High school. The Programs are themed and include special activities. Children can always bring their friends!

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation Class for 8th and 9th Graders:

During 8th or 9th grade, young people may choose to join our church as full members, after completing a one-year confirmation experience. We offer a program, called "Making Disciples," to all confirmation candidates. This program helps young people to grow as faithful disciples and responsible members of the community of faith. Students meet for about a dozen group classes that meet during and after our. Confirmation students also receive a "large group" experience in our Middle School Youth Group that meets during and after worship service one or two Sunday's a month.

ADULT EDUCATIONS

Ed Ops, or Regular Adult Ed Programs:

held on a variety of topics and scriptures, and include Sunday evening Bible-Video discussions led by our pastors. Guest speakers are among the highlights of Ed Ops. Programs are generally scheduled on Sunday evening or following 10 am worship. Other programs are held on Wednesday evenings.
